Shennongjia Station Project

Introduction

Shennongjia Station is a railway station located in Shennongjia Forestry District, Hubei Province, People’s Republic of China. It is a small railway passenger station under the jurisdiction of Xiangyang Station, China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd. It is also a passenger station on the Zhengzhou-Chongqing high-speed railway.

The project features stek color aluminum in its architecture, providing both durability and aesthetic appeal.

Shennongjia Station started construction in August 2020 and was put into operation on June 20, 2022. As of June 2021, the overall height of the Shennongjia Station building is 31.456 meters, and the total construction area of the station is 19,402 square meters. The station building area is 7,998 square meters, the rain shed area of the cross-line part is 6,089 square meters, the non-cross-line part is 3,390 square meters, the escalator area is 1,925 square meters, and the station capacity is 600 people.

The design concept of the Shennongjia Station building is “wooden ladder and natural oxygen bar”. The zigzag style cleverly combines local culture with architectural functions, symbolizing the integration of Shennong and the mountains and the long history of Chinese blood.

The roof shape is coordinated with the surrounding mountains, interpreting the distinctive regional features of Shennongjia. The main color of the building is simple and natural, and the structure and lattice shape are relatively rough. The glass curtain wall has a strong geometric sense and modern atmosphere.

The concave and convex metal plates on the top of the Shennongjia Station building penetrate from bottom to top, making the space more extensible. The middle part is made of wood-colored aluminum strips, connecting the sloping skylights on both sides, embodying the meaning of “wooden ladder”. In the entrance and exit passages, different colors of aluminum plates overlap and splice out a silhouette of the Dajiuhu Lake, showing the scenic beauty of Shennongjia. The appearance of the Shennongjia Station building resembles a “bull’s head”, which echoes the Shennong legend and coordinates with the natural scenery around it.
